Question: Jewelry dipped in gold?

( Back )

Answer #1:

IDK but that is a really good idea. Take it to a jeweler and ask them ~ I bet they would do it for you. It'll probably be pretty expensive tho >.<

Answer #2:

Yeah I think that's smart to have it gold plated if it has a sentimental value to you. Like the girl said before, it's best for you to go directly to a jeweler and ask them how it works or if its possible.

Answer #3:

What Ashes and Chantal said.

Answer #4:

Gold Plating ( or Gold Electroplating) process is pretty simple, and takes between 30 to 60 seconds. When gold is applied to a copper rich surface such as brass, bronze, or beryllium copper, metal ions from these base metals will diffuse into the gold layer and degrade its hardness.

Any workshop with right equipment should do it for you. It's hard to say what the cost would be without knowing how long is your necklace, but it should not be more then 50 USD
